Cut and Restored Rope
The classic. A rope is cut in full view of the spectators. The magician then magically restores the rope to it's original, length.
Rope penetration with ring (onto rope)
The magician shows a rope and a large metal ring. He gives both to a spectator to be examined. He then proceeds to pull the ring through the rope so that it is now on the rope.
Rope penetration with ring (off of rope)
The magician shows a ring on the middle of a rope. He claims he can make the ring penetrate the rope, but to make it a little harder, he well also make the rope penetrate his own finger. He then ties the rope throught the ring and around his finger, binding them to one another. Holding the ends of the rope, the magician yanks the ring vertically, it snaps off the rope and his finger is left undamaged. (this is a good follow up for the last trick)
Impossible Penetration
A magician displays two ropes. He ties a silk around the centers of the two ropes. He asks for three voluteers. He places the ropes on one volunteer's stomach and knots one of them around the back. He then tells the other volunteers to take hold of the ropes. He instructs them to pull as hard as they can on the count of three. They pull the ropes, which penetrate through the midsection of the volunteer as the silk falls to the ground. The volunteer walks away unhurt.
