Card Tricks

Hold down that card

The spectator is told to hold down the top card of the deck.  Despite this, the magician still manages to transport the Card to another place in the room.

Flip it over

The spectator's chosen card is made to leap out of the deck and turn face up before the spectator's eyes.

Telepathic choice

A spectator chooses a card from the deck and shows no one.  The card is replaced in the deck and shuffled by the spectator.  Another spectator is selected and takes another card from the deck without looking at it.  When it is turned over, it is revealed to be the card that the first spectator chose in the beginning of the trick.

The Deo-Ace Trick

The four dueces and the four aces are all removed from the pack and laid on the table.  A card is then selected by the spectator.  and replaced in the deck.  The deck is shuffled by the magician until the spectator is satisfied.  At this point, the magician places the four aces on the bottom of the deck one after another a little spread so the spectator can see the values of each card.  The pack is then squared up.  With no shuffling or cuts at all, the magician starts to deal the aces face down from the bottom of the deck onto the dueces of corresponding suit.  The magician then asks the spectator to name the suit of his card.  One by one the aces are turned over with the suit of the spectators card last.  When the ace of the suit of the spectator's card is turned over, it is seen to have changed into the spectator's card.

Card Transportation

A card is selected and replaced in the deck.  The deck is shuffled and then handed to the spectator to be shuffled more.  When the deck is handed back to the magician, the card is revealed to have transported to another position in the room.

Surprize appearance

A card is chosen.  It is put back in the deck.  The spectator is then allowed to shuffle the deck as much as he likes.  The Magician looks through the deck for the card, frowns then cuts the deck.  He claims that he has narrowed the choices to four cards.  He shows each of the cards and deals each one on the table.  Alas, none prove to be the chosen card, but the magician is not prepared to give up yet.  He shows each of the four cards again.  The spectator confirms that they are still not his card.  In a last valiant attempt to save his trick, the magician abandons all hope of using tickery to find the card and resorts to real magic.  He places one of the cards known to be not the spectators in the hand of the spectator and snaps his fingers.  When the card is turned over, it is revealed have transformed into the spectator's chosen card.

Three Card switch

The Magician displays three cards face up on the table: an Ace, a Three and a Joker.  Taking the joker he turns the three over and lays the joker face down on the ace.  Revealing that the ace is still there, he turns over the ace/joker pile and reveals that it is actually the three that was face down on the ace.  Taking the ace then, the magician turns over the face down card on the table to reveal....the Ace! turning the card in his hand face up, the audience sees the Joker.

Tick Tock Trick

The Magician deals out thirteen card in the formation of a clock with the Ace of Spades (or other card) in the middle as the Card of Mystery.  The spectator is asked to mentally select a card and remember the card value and the o'clock at which it lies.  While the magician's back is turned, the spectator counts off the number of cards equal to the o'clock of his card.  The magician gathers the cards on the table and shuffles, the cards the spectator took are added to the top.  When the clock is dealt again, this time face down, the magician asks at which o'clock the spectator's card lie.  when this card is turned over, it is seen to be the Card of Mystery.  When the center card is turned over, it is the spectator's card.

Easy Aces

The aces are dealt face down on a table.  Three cards are dealt onto each.  These are gathered up and the deck discarded.  The magician deals "One, two, three, Ace".  The spectator turns over the last card to find that it is indeed an ace.  The magician deals the rest of the packet.  The bottom cards of each packet are removed and turned face up on their respective packets as "markers".  When the markers are switched, the packets are turned over.  They have switched as well.

The Four Aces

The four aces are handed out for inspection.  They are replaced on the deck.  The deck is squared up.  The four aces are then removed and placed face down on the table.  One by one each ace is inserted into the deck, visibly and in full view.  After the last ace is inserted, The deck is riffled and the first four cards on the top of the deck are removed.  These are turned over to show that they are the four aces.

It's all Aces

The magician cuts the deck into four piles.  He then instructs the spectator to take three cards from the top of each pile, put them on the bottom, then deal one card onto each packet.  When this is complete, the spectator is instructed to turn over the top card of each packet.  These are seen to be the four aces.

The Pass Card Trick

A card is visibly inserted into the deck.  No matter where it is inserted, the magician always makes it rise back to the top.  The card can even be inserted face up into the deck. It can be seen to physically appear on the top of the deck.

The Ambitious Card Routine

A card is continually pushed into the deck and no matter where it is pushed, with one riffle of the pack, the card appears on top.

The Houdini Card Trick

A card is selected and returned to the deck.  The deck is shuffled.  A rubber band is wrapped around the cards.  The top card is pulled out and turned over and the spectator is asked if that is his card.  This is denied.  The magician turns the pack over, draws out the card that was previously shown and replaces it in the deck.  The deck is then cut and turned face up.  When the deck is put down on the table, it immediately spins around and the chosen card leaps from the deck face up.

Spectator finds it

A card is selected and returned to the deck anywhere the spectator wishes.  The deck is shuffled.  It is then spread in a ribbon spread on the table.  The spectator is asked to point to their card.  Bewildered, they point to any random card.  The card is taked out and the spread is picked up.  The magician takes the top card and points to the card on the table and asks "are you sure this is your card".  No matter the reply, the magician says "let's see".  and uses the card in his hand to flip the card on the table.  It is the spectators card.

Four Mental Cards

The magician removes four cards from the deck and displays them to the spectator.  The spectator is asked to pick one and memorize it.  The four cards are then replaced in the middle of the deck.  After a few seconds of thought, the magician asks the spectator to say the name of his card.  Immediately, the magician produces the card.

Presto Prediction

The deck is shuffled by the spectator.  The magician then takes the deck and removes a prediction card.  The spectator is told to deal cards from the bottom onto the table as many as he wants. Then he picks a pile.  That pile is really used to find one card which is the spectators card.  The two cards, neither have been seen by the spectator, lay face down on the table.  upon turning over the two cards, the are seen to be the same in color and value.

Card to Pocket Routine

A spectator picks a card. That card is then returned the the deck and the deck shuffled.  The magician then produces the chosen card from his pocket.  He proceeds to "reveal" how the trick works.  He explains that once the deck is shuffled, the card becomes invisible and floats out of the deck and into his pocket.  To prove this, the card is once again placed into the deck.  The deck is shuffled.  The deck is handed off to the spectator.  Both hands are revealed to be empty.  The Magician reaches into his pocket and produces the spectator's card.

Card to Wallet

A spectator picks a card and returns it to the deck.  The deck is shuffled then handed to the spectator for shuffling.  While the spectator is shuffling, the magician takes out his wallet.  This is shown to be empty, front and back, then placed into the spectator's pocket.  The deck is taken back, riffled, and turned face up.  The magician asks the spectator to call stop when he sees his card while the magician averts his eyes.  After going throught the entire deck, the spectator has not said stop.  Confused, both magician and spectator turn their attention to the wallet.  The spectator is instructed to take it out and open it.  The chosen card is found safe inside the wallet.

Four ways to find a Card

Forcing a Card

Forcing is one of the most useful techniques in Card magic.  Use it to read minds, find a card, or even just for the satisfaction of knowing that you have complete control over a spectators actions, unknown to him.  Click here to learn various forces, some that require lots of practice to get right and others that can be done instantly.
